If I log-in as a user I know how to open an app as root by using sudo and about using su.
But if I am logged in as root and wish to open firefox as a particular user, and not as root, how do I do that? (while otherwise remaining logged in as root)

"su [username]" - Switches user of shell to user
"sudo -u [username] [app]" - Runs app as user

You may also want to do:
su - [username]
while as root if you want to obtain their profiles as well.

Yeah, because of this, we use sudo su - in a livecd first of all
