Workaround for scancode problem

Hello,

I have a "Hauppauge Nova DVB-T-500" card with Remote Control. This one is recognized and partly running with evdev. So far, at least a half of buttons is not working because delivered keycodes are above 255. It is a known problem/bug between Kernel and Xorg, because the last one accepts keycodes only below 255. I've searched 2 days long for the workaround, but found nothing. I set my all hopes in the community now.

I thought, there must be a way to remap all the keys with codes above 255 to keys with codes below 255. May be using HAL and fdi rule? Any suggestion?

showkey using option -k gives following output:

# showkey -k
...
keycode 326 pressed
keycode 326 released
...

With option -s I get no scancodes shown for keys with codes above 255 sad

Hope s.o. can help....
