Has anyone been able to find a fix?
The problem I believe concerns i686 build and the current kernel with SMP (Any dual/multiple core systems).
Catalyst driver is from http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=22899
glxgears or any gl games or applications cause the system to be unresponsive and hard lock/hang. The system is not responsive at all, however for some reason conky can still show updates like time change. Only way to get back to desktop is a reboot.
Are there any solutions at the moment, I heard a kernel downgrade might work? Is there a good way to downgrade since repos don't hold older versions..

Hello primoTurbo!
"Only way to get back to desktop is a reboot.
What does it mean by you ? Restart X or the whole PC ?
Is there any relevant in syslog/xorglog/errorlog ? Can you ssh for this pc from remote and can u do something with it across ssh ? Is the whole PC frozen in that time or just X?
which version do you use?
You can downgrade a package, pls read this pages:
