When I add albums to my playlist in MPD, it adds them so songs are grouped by artist and then album, and within the album they're listed alphabetically. Is there anyway I can make it list the songs by the track number instead?
Thanks!

I guess it is up to the client in which order to show them. Sonata can sort them by track number.

MPD by default just adds them in alphabetical order based on filename. One thing you can do is to give them good names "Artist/Album/track - title.foo" is good. You can also use http://github.com/Daenyth/dotfiles/blob … mpdsort.py (the library is in my bin/ as well)

If you use Sonata, don't classify your library by files but by artists or album
.
Ps : sorry for my poor english.

Oooh that's perfect! Is that just for Sonata or is there a way to do that with ncmpcpp too?
e: There must be a way to do this with ncmpcpp, because when I do it in Sonata it does it automatically in ncmpcpp too. Lemme check this out...
e2: Found it! Press ctrl+v in the playlist screen, select Artist, go down and select Sort, and that's it ![]()
If anyone know's what to put in the config file to always do this please let me know.

Something tells me you don't quite understand how a daemon manages itself...
