Kaffeine video driver problem - only "xshm" working

Hi there,
I have a problem with kaffeine: With most video drivers the videos played by kaffeine have strage "black squares". This is a screenshot. The Squares are not visible all the time, its an annoying flicker.

It occurs with most drivers, others can't be used by kaffeine (error message). The only driver that plays videos without problems is xshm. But its much slower than auto, which I used before the problem occured. Example: Switching to fullscreen needs much more time.
First the image freezes and moves to the upper right corner while the rest of the screen turns black, and after half a second the video plays fullscreen. Its not that big deal though, but if there is a sollution to the "black square" problem I would like to use auto again.

Any idea what could cause this problem?

Greetings, yodo

Re: Kaffeine video driver problem - only "xshm" working

Quite an old Thread now... But I push it anyway. The problem is still there after all. Only that there are no squares anymore, but a complete back screen. Only audio available.
Still using KDEmod and the (now) newest nvidia-driver.

Searching the web, I found out that auto (xv), the driver that I used in the past uses hardware acceleration. I assume that this is not working correctly. 3D-acceleration works though (-> glxgears).
No one here with the same problem?!

Because its the only really mature DVB-S player afaik. Got really used to it... The problem is not that big that I would switch to kdetv or something similar.
Would be just nice to use a faster video driver.

This is not clear to me sorry, is it just a kaffeine problem for you or not? I yes, you can use other application, and report it to the author, if it didn't happen.

Re: Kaffeine video driver problem - only "xshm" working

Well, I can't use another application. I explained before, that good DVB-S programs are rare.
But its not a problem that only occurs with kaffeine though. If I select hardware accelerated video drivers (if they are - I will post the names here) in VLC similar problems occur.
It doesn't matter if I use compiz / kwin's composite effects, or traditional kwin.
