Arch newbie init question

Hello everyone! Today is my second day using Arch and I am quite pleased thus far!
The only real error in my system was a wireless networking one which I managed to fix myself.
This post is more of a general question which involves Arch's boot process. I have read over "The Arch boot process" wiki page and now have a general understanding of the init system, although I'm sure it helps that I am a previous Slackware user which also uses the BSD-style init.
What I would like to know is, where in the init system does it clear the console before running agetty and bringing up the login text? I would like to prevent this from happening as the information printed during the boot process is often vital to troubleshooting problems, and would have been useful in fixing the one I mentioned above. Also, since the logging daemons are brought up during this time there is no chance of this information being logged.
If anyone has any information on this, please let me know.

In your /etc/inittab file if you stop the first getty from forming you'll be able to see all the text at vc/1

So if I read you correctly, getty itself is what clears the console?

/etc/issue has a cls code..
