How to rename a connected bluetooth device

I have a bluetooth mouse and recently I connected it to a friend's macbook and ever since it is called "Filip's Mouse". I would like to rename it back to "Erwin's Mouse" or something like that, in order to avoid confusion smile
It looks like a simple problem, but i seem unable to figure out how to do this. Can anyone help me plz?

Thanks in advance,
Erwin

Re: How to rename a connected bluetooth device

Hello evdvelde!

Why don't your parents choose name, Filip? haha just a joke.

Bluetooth generally:

Bluetooth Mouse:

I would grep for this Filip name in the files that bluetooth package installed, and sed it.

Re: How to rename a connected bluetooth device

Hey djszapi,

That is a complicated name you have smile
The name of the mouse is not in the configuration files, but seems to be stored by the mighty mouse itself, I never entered it in a config file, the name just changed after Filip connected it to his macbook and gave it back to me afterwards... Any ideas? I changed it back in OSX, but that seems stupid smile

Regards,
Erwin
