Loading UDev uevents hangs

I'm trying to install Arch Linux on my new system.

(Intel Core 2 Quad / Intel ICH10R / Intel G45 )

When booting the install-cd, it hangs on "Loading UDev uevents".
I've tried the various suggestion, including disabling the iTCO_wdt module, which didn't help.
Anything else I could try, to see where it hangs?

I've tried 2009.02, 2009.08, and 2008.06....

Re: Loading UDev uevents hangs

this sounds like the problem i had....

http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=76100

what's your board?
mine was a P45 based board from MSI, i couldn't resolve the problem nor find a clue, so i gave up and tried another P45 board (from asus) and everything is running fine...
a difference is that with 2008.06 i could install but on first upgrade the system would hang randomly while booting (mostly while loading udev)

Re: Loading UDev uevents hangs

I think I found the cause: after removing the wireless pci network card it seems to boot fine.... udev doesn't hang. Now I have to find out why it hangs with that card in it. At least, should be a lot easier now that I can install it...

Re: Loading UDev uevents hangs

Turns out just doing a "modprobe ath5k" or "modprobe ath_pci" will hang the machine. No error messages, everything is frozen. Any advise on how to debug this?
