Firstly, I'd like to thanks everyone in my other thread help me get the base of arch linux installed. Thanks!
Ok, the problem is now, when I run the command
$ startxfce4
I get the error in a window:
Failed to execute the dbus-launch to autolaunch D-Bus session
In a window named Unable to contact settings server.
My .xinitrc reads in the uncommented line:
exec dbus-launch --exit-with-session startxfce4
Also, openbox works.

Do you have D-bus and Dbus-core installed?

I'm not sure about D-bus (Qs says no), but I have the core. What is the package name for D-bus?

install dbus-core and hal and add hal to the deamons array in rc.conf . or start it manual
/etc/rc.d/hal start
your .xinitrc should contain:
exec ck-launch-session xfce4-session
Then run startx or use a login manager

New problem. When I try to start hal with /etc/rc.d/hal start it creates a failure.
^^
Nevermind, it was already running.
