snd_hda_intel not found?

Hello, I'm trying to install ALSA on my Vostro 1500 and have an Intel sound card, but I don't know where to get the modules.

Re: snd_hda_intel not found?

snd-hda-intel is provided by the kernel - you don't have to get anything from any other source.

$ locate snd-hda-intel
/lib/modules/2.6.30-ARCH/kernel/sound/pci/hda/snd-hda-intel.ko

Re: snd_hda_intel not found?

The module by itself is owned by the kernel

pacman -Qo /lib/modules/2.6.30-ARCH/kernel/sound/pci/hda/snd-hda-intel.ko
/lib/modules/2.6.30-ARCH/kernel/sound/pci/hda/snd-hda-intel.ko is owned by kernel26 2.6.30.4-1

You only have to install the alsa-* packages
