Upgrade language for packages more often?

Hi. I am really concerned to say that some time ago (about 1-2 months I think, not sure, maybe even more) I finished the Polish translation of Yakuake and K3b, so now their translation is complete, but I still bump into lots of English language inside them. I understand that the translations were uploaded to KDE's svn after the stable release of the program (e.g. new strings in Yakuake 2.9.6 were translated after final stable release) but that doesn't mean Arch's devs can't make smaller updates to them featuring new translated strings - I think that's what the number after the dash is for, right? (I mean, Yakuake's version is 2.9.6-1)

Thanks in advance!

PS.: That may as well apply to many other apps, and other languages wink Just please, don't think the work is done after you package a stable version, devs wink

PPS.: I know there are -svn packages, but come on, are stable users rejected the right to have the most recent translation?

Re: Upgrade language for packages more often?

you have to wait the next release of Yakuake. we don't backport fixes from svn unless are critical

Well, it's a real pity to hear that. Thanks anyway. I reckon you aren't planning to release -lang packages (the KISS philosophy), but how about making them in the community repo? That way users could be responsible for packaging the newest translations from svn.

PS.: If so, what is the dash in the package version for?

Re: Upgrade language for packages more often?

no. the same principle is in community too. you may pack it and upload into aur.
what are you asking is pkgrel.
read about the archlinux schema here: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/PKGBUILD . basically we increment it when we apply a fix, rebuild to the same version. e.g 1.1-1, 1.1-2
