python-pypdf

I am writing a program with the pypdf library and it seems that it throws some deprecation messages in your face which is not nice. I wrote a patch to fix that and then saw that the package is orphaned. is it possible nonetheless that someone could update the PKGBUILD and rebuild the package? If not, I would either volunteer to maintain the package, or just upload a python-pypdf-fixed package to the AUR.

here is my new source tarball with the patch included

I would like some feedback on how I should contribute this fix to the Archlinux community

Re: python-pypdf

Have you tried submitting the patch upstream?

ah. i forgot that ^^.
no not yet, it seems that the project is pretty inactive atm, but i will try that. the question of who will update the package is still valid though.

I'll be back here when i tried to submit the patch

Since this package is in [community], you should file a bug report with the Community Packages project on the bug tracker. I would also send the patch upstream so it can be incorporated into future releases. smile
