Morrowind performance sucks with open driver, and rocks using fglrx

The problem is on a Inspiron 1501. The graphics card on it(igp) is a Xpress 1150, but it is detected as an Xpress 200M(in lspci and in xorg.conf)

I think that could explain my problem with the xf86-video-ati driver bad 3d performance in Morrowind(wine).

Morrowind perform at full speed in Windows but in Linux(using Wine), I get about 5 fps with open source driver and almost
full speed with fglrx(I tried it one year ago in Debian and it performed well)

Direct rendering is working, but performance sucks.

Anyone knows what to do to detect properly the graphics card s an Xpress 1150 and not an Xpress 200M?

If it's not the real problem(considering the Xpress 1150 is barely better than Xpress200M), how could I improve performance?
I use EXA as rendering method.
