xorg-server-1.6.3-2I reverted the upgrade with pacman -Suu using an older mirror, so everything is ok now, except the fact that my system is not up-to-date ![]()
I don't have PC Speaker in alsamixer, tried running alsaconf, tried installing snd-pcsp and added it to the loaded modules in rc.conf beside pcspkr, but this didn't help.
Any ideeas on whitch package messed with the PC Speaker or how to resolve my issue?
Thanks.

Try adding pcspkr module to mkinitcpio and rebuild kernel image ![]()

search the news and you will find out , that what speedvin mentioned has been removed from the stock kernel, good luck with rebuilding

Actually, i think you reffer to snd-pcsp, not pcspkr as spedvin. And i don't think it related to it, because i didn't upgrade the kernel package...

Try adding pcspkr module to mkinitcpio and rebuild kernel image
Tried adding it to the modules section and rebuild the kernel image. => no change
Tried adding it to the hooks section => it said the hook cannot be found.

Post your output of lsmod after adding pcspkr to mknitcpio.conf and rebuilding image ![]()

Also i started upgrading the packages one by one and found out that the PC Speaker dies after i upgrade udev&initscripts, so it's probably udevs fault.
LE: Actually upgrading only initscripts kills the speaker, i guess it's something in the new /etc/rc.sysinit that is responsible for this...
