[Solved] Difference between gfxboot, grub-gfx and grub2-gfxmenu?

Probably a really newbie question but I just don't get it.

Gfxboot = for lilo? (http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=10264)

Grub-gfx = for grub 1 (0.97)? (http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=2416)

Grub2-gfxmenu = for grub 2? (http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=27280)

And also what's the difference between grub 1 and grub 2?

Also thanks.

Edit (http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=27280):

Nopers, this package is composed of self-contained source code provided by the author. It's not a patch against grub2 at the moment. On that note, I think he offers patches on his page, but IIRC they were far out of date. He does have BZR set up, which would likely be using the grub version you want, but I don't really feel inclined to make the package do that. I prefer his "stable" releases. I did originally start on BZR though, and you can probably find the old pkgbuild for it around somewhere on the internet if you want to look for it and merge the old stuff with this. It would probably be just as easy to just start fresh though, I don't think it would need more than maybe 2 changes and 2-3 lines. Give it a little while, I read a post from him half a week ago saying he was working on an update. smile

Hello Algorythm!

Grub:
http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/GRUB

Grub2:
http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/GRUB2

For example, you can't boot ext4 fs boot partition with 'simple' grub, but grub2.
