Hiya, I tried to install KDE on a fresh ARCH install by using pacman -Sy KDE. It said something about there being a conflict with something beginning with I, and whether I wanted to remove it. I said yes. and then left it overnight. When I came back I noticed that it had finished. I also noticed that there was loads of errors and the command line wasn't responding to anycommands. It complained of many errors about bash. I dont' suppose theres a common error with this I don't know about? I installed this on a fresh install of Arch using the core cd from 2009.02. Thanks.

I need to know (at least) the package you have removed and those errors ..
maybe a reboot will work

Hi, thanks for reply. I've already rebooted, still doesn't work. Here are the error messages: No inittab file found
then it says: Enter runlevel
I can't remember what package I removed, is there a log I can access?
Thanks.

Hello Zophixan!
The runlevel 3 is the default without X, maybe give it a try, just put the 3 into the booting line.
In last case you can chroot into your system, and correct the error.

Hiya, i tried 3, it just gave me some errors. Thanks for the help though. I've gone back to linux mint as I'm short on time. I'm sure I'll try out arch linux properly though someday!
