How about a working OpenOffice suite then >sigh<.
OpenOffice just does nothing when i start it over here.

The only way we can fix these problems is if you tell us about them. I haven't had any problems with openoffice and I don't think the maintainer has either.

Yes, indeed.
And i didn't tell it since it was posted about 3 times on the board, why should i open another thread then?

did you check the bugtracker? Oft times the package maintainers will not religiously follow the user forums. But they generally do check the bugtracker. If it is not posted there, you might want to consider opening a bug for it.

try removing all openoffice pkgs from your system, remove all ~/OpenOfficeXYZ and then -S openoffice-en openoffice-spell{en,de} and then start the oo-installer again ... it "should" work

i only shared experience ... i did upgrade from 1.1.3 to 1.1.4 and had lots of trouble with it ... but when i removed anything that the oosetup does and reinstalled the pkgs and started the setup of oo 1.1.4 everything worked again
actually i don't like the per-user installation of OO, as it is more messy

Since I installed using the 0.7beta2 iso will I need to do anything special once it hits final?

Once you install from iso, run pacman -Syu, setup basic things in /etc, you just forget about betas and final versions. You always have current (even more recent than final).
