Well, I'm trying to install GNOME but I get an error message that says "Udev: conflicts with initscripts"

Welcome to the forums!
I'm not certain, but the conflict might be related to this:

Make sure you do a full update "pacman -Syu" followed by "pacman -S gnome".
Never install packages like "pacman -Sy gnome".

Seems like that might be the problem but how exactly do I fix it?
And ok Allan, I'll try it in a second.

Hmm... Something's odd here. Please run the command:
pacman -Si udev initscripts
To see which versions of these packages pacman is trying to pull. It should be udev 141-5 and initscripts 2009.07-3.

Yeah, that stuff is all right.
Did you try to reinstall core/initscripts before ?
I don't know how, this is a fresh install of Arch with madwifi installed.

Double check. The latest udev conflics with earlier versions of initscripts and is the only way I can see of getting this message.

Maybe I have to restart after I update? Cause I looked at that stuff and it's all right.

Please try to reinstall it. or in last case to make a new install if it's a fresh reinstall. You won't lose so much things.

I've tried a fresh install ~5 times now, I don't think it's that.
I've been trying at this all day.

If those are the package version reported and you have done a full system update "pacman -Syu", then it is impossible for "pacman -S gnome" to give you that error. Please paste the full pacman output here.

Now I did a full system upgrade(Again) and it's no longer showing my wireless interface.
Madwifi and a Airlink ALWH4130.
