Re: [solved] X not working properly

To be honest it sounds like you are in a bit of a pickle.  Why not start afresh and install everything frm scratch following the beginners guide?  I am no expert but have managed to install Arch on 4 different PCs (different make, graphics card, processor etc.) and each time it has worked.  The trick is to follow the guide, read, think and take your time.  Do everything in the correct order and make sure you don't miss any steps.  It will work.

Re: [solved] X not working properly

Copy and paste the output.  But I really think you should reinstall from scratch.

Re: [solved] X not working properly

Hello Speedvin,

I did that.
Now only the three config/hal errors remain and still no X as a normal user.
As root startx stars twm I think.

But how can I follow the beginners  guide without installing X.

Re: [solved] X not working properly

if this is a new install and therefore you have no data then a reinstall will take an hour tops.  You will then know exactly what you have and haven't done and troubleshooting any issues will be far easier.
