Hi,
is there a way to have the in game sound of wesnoth while mpd is playing?
Currently only one source is possible for me.
If you need some of my configs, please let me know.
TIA

First of all:
http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/MPD
Which mpd client do you use ?
Alsa, Oss or pulseaudio ?
yeah, it would be great to see your config.
Is the configuration socket based ? Which version do you use?

The client doesn't matter. Both, sonata and ncmpcpp, cause the problem.
I'm using Alsa and I had a similar problem with Urban Terror but I googled that for UT playing game sound and mpd isn't possible becaus UT uses Oss.
mpd-version: 0.14.2-1
Here you can find my mpd.conf: http://pastebin.org/904

The only other game I have is World of Goo and when I play this, I have mpd and in game sound. I can use vlc and mpd together, too.
Em, what do you mean with "socked-based config"?

with bind_to_address line.
man mpd.conf, and you can see the example in /etc/ too

Tried bind_to_address "/var/run/mpd/socket" but with tha mpd didn't work (port error)
According to the wiki dmix is enabled by default so there should be no problem with multiple apss

Additional information:
Also youtube plays no sound when wesnoth is running (and vice versa)

If i remember, it's an openal configuration problem, you have to set openal to use alsa or sdl because at default it uses oss.
