Hi,
I share my /home between my desktop and laptop via unison. Is it possible to have host-specific settings, like desktop background, widgets, etc.? From the .kde4 directory structure I can tell that some things are shared, others are already host-specific. Right now I just exclude certain files from syncing, but that's not really elegant. Any ideas?

Seems like nobody has this issue.
Let's try another approach: is it possible to set system wide settings for KDE4? Then I could set unique options on each computer.

You can specify which paths/files you want Unison to ignore during synchronisation - the conf files in ~/.unison are reasonably self explanatory.
For help check the unison website which has a tutorial

Thanks, but that's what I'm doing already. I'm just looking for a more elegant way.

Wow, thanks! This is going in the right direction now. It's not working though, like with the OP on that thread. I'll look into this a bit deeper when my exams are over.
