Hi all,
I've not played anything since a long time ago (several years), but from time to time I'd like to just shoot around a bit
So, I don't know which games are usefull in Linux now. I have 64bit Arch with ATI HD3200 (integrated 780 chipset) and AMD 5050e CPU (2.6ghz) - so that's not the best performing computer there is.
I've installed the proprietry driver just now (haven't rebooted yet, hope it works).
So what would you suggest? Before I liked to play death match and capture the flag (Unreal mostly).

OpenArena, BloodFrontier, Urban Terror, Alien Arena, list continues...

There should be a Linux version of Quake Live (www.quakelive.com) out in a few weeks...

I'm currently addicted to Nexuiz. It runs great on my 64bit system and should work fantastically on your's.

I've just played a short botmatch, but that game doesn't look like there is any design behind it. :<

Botmatch? lol
Sorry if this analogy offends anyone, but that's like masturbating for 3 minutes to a fuzzy picture and then concluding that sex is unpleasant.

AssaultCube is sweet. http://assault.cubers.net/. Cross platform, free, opensource, fast, small, fun, multiplayer, first person shooter.
IMO it's one of the best games on Linux, and possibly Windows and Macintosh too. Check it out.
BTW it's in the 'communitty' repo.

Unreal Tournament 2004 - there's no game even close to that. Yup, I know it's not free

Nexuiz is quite nice, despite being more or less run-of-the-mill and having no plot whatsoever. The bots are good if you ramp the difficulty up high enough.
Also: I've heard it's even better if you play with real people.
