KdeMod vs Kde-Meta

I am using KDE 4. mod.  When I run pacman -Syu I get many messages asking to replace ...... with ..../kde-meta-....

I have read that I need to wait for KDE Mod to be updated before trying again.  If I answered yes to the replace with.... options, would it simply install kde-meta (whatever that is) over my KDE Mod?

It looks like you do not have KDEmod installed, but just KDE from [extra]. If so then you should answer Y to all those questions and let it upgrade...

kde-meta is the "meta packages" for vanilla arch kde.

a meta package is a package that doesn't provide anything itself, but has dependencies for groups of programs.

for instance, installing kde-meta-kdegames will install all of the kde games

edit - i'm retarded - as the others said, your not using kdemod.

It looks like you do not have KDEmod installed, but just KDE from [extra]. If so then you should answer Y to all those questions and let it upgrade...

Bingo.  You're not using KDEMod.
