Hi,
I am running Arch i686 with [KDEMOD]. When i do my daily pacman -Syu i get the following:
stefan ~ $ sudo pacman -Syu
:: Synchronizing package databases...
kdemod-core is up to date
kdemod-extragear is up to date
core is up to date
extra is up to date
community is up to date
archlinuxfr is up to date
:: Starting full system upgrade...
:: Replace phonon with extra/qt? [Y/n]
resolving dependencies...
looking for inter-conflicts...
:: qt conflicts with qtmod. Remove qtmod? [Y/n]
:: kdebase-workspace conflicts with kdemod-kde-common. Remove kdemod-kde-common? [Y/n]
......
.......
even though this system *never* had KDE from extra installed or any other WM then KDEMOD.

Did you answer "No" to "Replace phonon with extra/qt? [Y/n]"?

Just had a look at their svn. Looks like the Qt in core does not provide phonon, but the one in testing does. Just give hem some time to move the packages to core.

ok. thanks. hope this will get sorted out briefly, it is a minor inconvenience, I used to believe that stuff like this would not happen if one changed to order of the repos in the pacman.conf, or is that now not the case because the packages are fundamentally different....

If you'd like to upgrade the rest of your system, the following seems to do the trick:
pacman -Su --ignore phonon --ignore pyqt

guess i will be waiting for KDEmod 4.3 to hit [core]. it is no biggie for me.
