KDE logs me off at Console

Hello,

I am using vanila KDE 4.3.0 and KDM with autologin (I have only one user apart from root on my system). Whenever I logout from KDE, I am logged off to tty1. Is there any wayto I get the KDM screen when I logoff?

Hi Naren,

Sounds like it is not respawning properly, so please check /etc/inittab and make sure that:

x:5:respawn:/usr/bin/kdm -nodaemon

is uncommented and in /etc/inittab.  If not there, you need to add it and comment out any other line that starts with x:5.

You also need to be in runlevel 5, so also make sure that:

id:5:initdefault:

is uncommented in /etc/inittab.
