Do The icons of menus link for an existing icon, did you check it ?

@djszapi - I'm not sure how to check that but I would assume that the main categories would have icons with them.

Try to download some incons themes copy it to your ~/.icons and change current icons to them (Dowloaded) by some prorgram like lxappearance ![]()

The icon package that comes with xfce is broken, it's a upstream xfce problem, not arch's problem if you were starting to wonder.
I believe that what you may want as a quick fix is to do 'pacman -S tango-icon-theme tango-icon-theme-extras gnome-icon-theme'.
These packages provide all the icons you need for the menus and system icons, just tango-icon-theme would do (and that was the fix pointed out when this version of xfce came out) but there would be one or two missing icons here and there.

I had the same problem last night. The xfce4 wiki said to do ^, and that's what worked for me.
