I'm running KDEMod, but I don't know that that has anything to do with the problem. I just updated my system a couple days ago. Restarted, used it, everything worked fine. I shut it down, then I turn it on yesterday to use it . It's been off without any changes for a day or so. When I turn it back on yesterday tapping to click and left clicking with the actual button don't work anymore. The moving of the cursor works fine and the right button works fine. I'm really confused, since it worked fine even after a restart, then the next day it doesn't.
I'm also fairly certain that it's not the hardware because I booted into xPUD and tapping to click and left clicking works fine.

Hello flammenwurfer!
Is there any relevant information in the xorglog/syslog/dmesg/errorlog? Did your xorg.conf stayed the same ?

Hi djszapi. I don't even have an xorg.conf file. I just let it autoconfigure. I will check the logs and get back to you shortly.

Here's my Xorg.log
I don't really see anything that jumps out at me as being a problem, but maybe somebody else will see something.

Yeah, I think so, could you try with autogenerate xorg.conf with X -cofigure e.g., or with hwd -x ?

Hmm....well, I'm thoroughly confused and not so sure it isn't a hardware problem now. It seems to be very intermittent. I booted up into Slitaz to try a different distro. I could tap to click and right click worked, but the physical left click button wouldn't work.
Then, I disabled kdm daemon in arch, rebooted, did X -configure to make a new xorg.conf and rebooted. Did startx and I could tap to click and use the right button, but still not the left button. Rebooted again and tap to click is not working again, just right click is working. GRRRRR!

Have you configured HAL policies for synaptics?

Thanks blasse, I will try that when I get home this evening, but it's been working flawlessly until now and I haven't changed anything. That's what I don't understand.

It does sound to me like a hardware problem. Especially since it's intermittent and the other two functionalities are working fine. Though, in all fairness, it could be that X is not registering the "click" function or something else is grabbing it before your programs can deal with it. Though, the fact that its cross DE's/DM'S suggests that it's not the latter.
Try with a USB mouse or other external mouse and see what happens.

Ok, I'm using a bluetooth mouse now and it will work fine for a while and then out of nowhere, while I'm just browsing the web it will go all crazy. left click won't work on the bt mouse or touchpad.
