[SOLVED] Unreliable hibernation: works, but only for a while

Edit: I know it's late, but just for the record: Solved with 2.6.30 and 'nopat' parameter in GRUB.

Hello,

I'm trying to get hibernation/suspend working on my Acer Aspire 7720.

Currently the problem is:

- If I hibernate (using pm-hibernate) and resume a few  minutes later, all is OK.
However, if I hibernate and leave the laptop hibernating for, say, 12 hours, it won't resume, I just get a blinking cursor and a frozen laptop.

There are no logs that mention any error. I'm using x86_64 Arch Linux.
It doesn't work with hibernate-script, either.

Any suggestions? It is really annoying to have a laptop which will not wake up from hibernation...

Thanks.

Hello Renan!

Hard to detect the error if there isn't any log file. Can you try it with other linux distribution/livecd ? Which kernel/xorg/driver version do you use ?

With openSUSE 11.1 I had no problems.

Which kernel/xorg/driver version do you use ?

Kernel 2.6.30.
xorg-server 1.6.3-3
xf86-video-intel 2.7.99.902-1
