Fish (for ssh/scp): connection broken

Hello all,

I'm posting this, because since few days I cannot find the root cause of my problem.

Since the last "pacman -Suy", I can no ore use the fish protocol within Dolphin (kde file manager).

By debuging and investigating, I've found that the system provide well the good user/passwd (log on the target server), but I always receive a message: "connection broken".

I've checked my /etc directory in case some .pacnew file would reside, but none are still there.

I've created a brand new user, thus with a clean /home environment, but with this user I've still have the problem.

Noneless to say that I have the same effect with krusader (an another kde file manager). Indeed, it use the same fish module, I think this is: /usr/lib/kde4/libexec/knetattach
Any idea ?

Thanks

Hello vincde!

Did it work with earlier fish module, or is it a fresh install of these applications ?

I had the same problem after upgrading to KDE 4.3. The solution is sftp:// which works just fine and is even recommended against fish.

It had always worked.

It's just broken since the kde update with meta packages.

Thanks panosk. This is indeed the solution.

But when you use the "add network folder", sftp is not listed (you just have ftp and ssh). If it's not recommended, they should remove it.
