Howdy guys,
I'm reworking my eee 901 and X won't start if I use the stock kernel. I have been using the kernel26-eee901 package from the aur and it has been great, and X starts with it, but I'd like to vanillify and move on. So to begin with, here's lsmod from the aur kernel:

I can't spot anything that sticks out. If it is any help, here is mine (from an Eee 901 running the stock kernel):

I have an Eee 901, which I happened to switch over to Arch just a week ago. I found it totally painless - all I did was install the xf86-video-intel package and xf86-input-synaptics to get everything working correctly (added my user to the video group to get "hardware acceleration" [sic]). I do not use an xorg.conf.
Let me know if you need more info.

hmm. I wasn't in the video group; now I am. x starts with or without an xorg.conf, but no touchpad. plugged in a usb mouse and it works.

For the touchpad, look at the wiki synaptics page -> http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Touchpad_Synaptics
