recent upgrade resets keymap - 10-keymap.fdi - how to stop this?

Hi.

In order to get the correct xorg keymap (for me its gb) I have to change the file

/usr/share/hal/fdi/policy/10osvendor/10-keymap.fdi

I change 'us' to 'gb'... After restart keymap works as it should in xorg 100%.... Until an recent pacman update - I am not sure what package it is (possibly hal on initscripts?) but it has happened on my main home desktop and my work desktop.. and those packages have been updated on both systems...

Obviously I to fix it I change the file again.

My question is :-

How to a change the default to gb so that this will not happen in future upgrades ?  Or is there a way to stop pacman automagically changing the file ?

Any advise is welcomed.

The more I use Arch the better I realise it is.. No waiting for your disto to package firefox/kde,etc It's always in the repos within a day or so (sometimes hours...)

Cheers

why did you modified there when you could overwrite the settings by copying that file in /etc/hal/fdi/policy?

Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

Copy the file to /etc/hal/fdi/policy/10-keymap.fdi and make your edits there.
