awesome-git and wicked-git version discrepancy?

[borrell@borrell-laptop ~]$ yaourt -Sybu --aur --devel
...
==> Searching for new version on AUR
awesome-git:  (local=20090823-1 aur=20090612-1)
...
wicked-git:  (local=20090823-1 aur=20090112-1)

Any ideas? This was all installed last Friday, before all the mirror issues. Besides, the AUR page shows the 20090612-1 version (http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=13916) I haven't installed anything not in the repos or in the AUR. maybe something is corrupted?

I don't know for sure but I thought that the number listed in AUR can't really be trusted for git packages. If you update it anyway, it should download the latest snapshot.

When you download and make a git package, it always is updated to the date of the packaging. The date on AUR doesn't mean anything, as long the PKGBUILD provides the proper git repository.

That is the same rule for svn/bzr/hg/darcs etc etc packages, that are updated automatically when they are going to be built by makepkg.

Awesome, thanks guys. I was wondering if it was something like that, but couldn't find it written anywhere. I'll update them and compare version numbers.

EDIT:

hmm, can't build awesome-git. I'm getting build errors after 'checking for modules':

package 'xcb-event>=0.3.6' not found
package 'xcb-icccm>=0.3.6' not found

I'll just wait a bit and see if the xcb packages are being updated from 0.3.5-1
