(Please forget it)After my screen blanks, no mouse pointer

Ater leaving my box for a few minutes, the screen blanks to black, and upon my return sometimes, not all the time, but sometimes, I have no mouse pointer. Moving the mouse brings the screen back OK, but at times, there is no mouse pointer. Does anyone know what can be causing this? More importantly, what am I doing wrong to cause this, and how can I correct it? I hate having to push the off button to reboot to get back to where I was.
I did a search for this problem, but found no info.
Thanks so much for any help.

Ron

No, just fill in with more information, like what DE or WM are you using and what program is causing the black screens?

And don't be afraid to ask questions, it's how you learn.

Re: (Please forget it)After my screen blanks, no mouse pointer

I'm sorry if I offended you. It's just that there was no information given in your post. My post was an attempt to get you to fill in the blanks. My reply was rather abrupt.

We need to know:

Is this a new problem or has it been there from first installation?
Are you using 32-bit Arch Linux or 64-bit?
Is this a new installation?
Is this a laptop or a desktop? If it's a laptop, make and model are especially important.
Are you using Gnome or KDE or Xfce or Openbox or...?
Do you get any error messages?
Are you using a screensaver program?
Are you using a power-saving program?
Does your BIOS have settings for sleep and hibernation?
What did you find on your search for a solution so far?
What have you changed that didn't work?
What have you changed that might have started the behavior?

Your original post left all these questions open. No one has a clue about where to start with helping you.
