touchpad on/off button

I have an Asus 1101HA (eeepc) and there's a button that (supposedly) enables/disables the touchpad. Pressing the button makes no difference whatsoever, it constantly indicates that the touchpad is off (the touchpad is working fine tho). I would like to get this button to work, any help is appreciated.

try "acpi_listen" on console and check if the button throws an acpi event. if so, you can write a script to enable/disable your touchpad while pressing.
