i just migrated from kde to xfce and now i am looking for something to replace the integrated launcher/desktop search (alt+f2) function. i know that nepomuk did have some resources issues but for the most part it gave me few problems...the current xfce "launcher" is super weak. i would prefer one application that does both rather than a text-based launcher and a separate desktop search.
what does the community recommend?

I haven't used it in a while, but the first thing that comes to mind is Gnome-do.

Did you try gmrun from community ?

Here's a list of application launchers that you can look at.

Use verve-command-line plugin and assign a hot-key to verve-focus. Beats the hell out of gnome-do or launchy!

well the closest thing i could find was gnome-do or launchy combined with something like beagle or google desktop search... i still prefer krunner because it combined a launcher with desktop search which was pretty awesome for my uses. i just dont want all those kde dependencies.
