need help setting up parallel port printer

hello everybody
i have an old HP DeskJet 670C printer that i want to use .i have connected to my server [ip address  192.168.1.102].the problem is that when i give a print job i can hear the head move for like 10 seconds then it stops and the error light on the printer starts to blink.

first let me tell what exactly i did to install printer

pacman -S cups ghostscript gsfonts hplip

modprobe lp

modprobe parport_pc

tail /var/log/messages.log  gives  " Aug 29 05:39:59 warpig kernel: lp0: using parport0 (interrupt-driven). "

changed my rc.conf to

MODULES=(snd-pcsp lp parport_pc)

DAEMONS=(syslog-ng network netfs crond sshd samba @acpid mpd alsa !httpd !mysqld sensors cups avahi-daemon)

http://192.168.1.102:631

Device HPLIP

Device URI: parallel:/dev/lp0

Printer Driver: HP DeskJet 670C Foomatic/pcl3

my /etc/cups/cupsd.conf and /var/log/cups/error_log

hey sorry for the delayed reply ,i have tested the printer under win 2000 and it seems to print stuff fine.
