I just installed Arch 64bit, but I cannot install Catalist using yaourt.
I only updated the system with pacman -Syu and that's all. Yaourt says that there are conflicts with libgl I think, and pacman -U cannot update packages.
Then I tried to install xf86-video-radeonhd, I installed xorg, gnome, gdm, all works about video but I have a worng resolution 1024x768 (my screen is wide)
what should I do? should I install catalyst or configure the opensource ones? how?
Regards

Welcome to the forum, Cellax!

You can use 'X -configure' to generate xorg.conf.

You'll need to use pacman's -Rd flag to remove libgl before installing catalyst.

thx, I did: pacman -Rd libgl ati-dri xf86-video-ati (I installed opensource driver tu use gnome, the HD drivers were not working)
and then yaourt -S catalyst-utils catalyst
I forgot to remove GDM from rc.conf and now I have black screen on startup, how can I disable serverx on startup?

I pressume you fixed this already, but for other people that might be wondering... This might get fixed in 2 different ways (the gdm thing, not the black screen issue). Firstly, by booting into init3 (Add a 3 at the end of the kernel option on grub) and then editing rc.conf or by booting from a livecd mounting your / partition and editing rc.conf.
