Re: Daily KDE4 Subversion Packages

This may have been asked before (too long to read through all of it) but isn't KDE moving everything over from subversion to git?

Hi, when I use the default KDM theme (Oxygen-Air), I cannot see my "User Images". Is that a bug?

Re: Daily KDE4 Subversion Packages

@venky80,Spy:I'm currently trying to get the experimental 3D-branch of the radeon-driver to work. When this is done, maybe I could push them to my server.

@markc: What do you think about using XML or some simple text files instead of MySQL for mpkg? If you're interested I could implement some bash-function to read/write the data.
I would also like to have some logging, which packages failed to build.

Thanks that will be awesome! (I say it because I do not see it related to KDE subversion packages!)
Thanks again

That's because there is a plasma developer sprint going on. Also, lots of GSOC plasma development branches were merged during the past days. The plasma desktop will remain fragile during the coming days.

Re: Daily KDE4 Subversion Packages

How far away are we from a full test of kde-git ? As Stephan, Robert and Mark are working like Trojans on this, I propose compiling + installing the whole tree on a fresh base-install of arch, perhaps tomorrow [ Friday 4th ] - to see if anything 'goes bang' smile.

Is there a 'recursive-script' around... sort of "kde-git-make-and-install-the-chuffing-lot.sh"... which will make in the correct order ? I've painful memories of trying to build
kde from source hmm

So, the outline is:

1> A fresh net install of kde-base + kde-base-devel.

2> Install xorg.

3> Clone the git repository:  git clone git://gitorious.org/kde-git-pkgbuilds/kde-git-pkgbuilds.git

4> Cd to the root dir + issue the "kde-git-make-and-install-the-chuffing-lot.sh" command, or some such thing. This will  have to
be a 'forced' install, as kde-base will be replaced, yes ?

Is this how a 'usual user' is envisaged installing kde-git ?

As I've maybe an hour free from 6.00am 'till 9.00pm - split into 10-minute sessions ! - and maybe a full hour from 9.00pm 'till
10.00pm, the process needs to be as hands-off as possible ! This is life for me at the moment, I'm afraid - nothing I can do about it.

If this works well, then I'll try the same on my 'production' partition, to test the install against user-installed-rubbish smile

Yes, I'd like it too.

One repository with the packages that are needed to run 3D with ATi HD-xxxx would be awesome.

markc, can you do this?

Sounds like a lot of work. But I'd very much appreciate it as well. It's amazing sometimes the difference in using the latest drivers makes.

The last week(s) i am not able to add new plasmoids. The Add plasmoid dialog doesn't show up. Is it the same for you as well?

Re: Daily KDE4 Subversion Packages

It only works from the cashew on the right of the panel, because they are trying to implement the new way of adding plasmoids into KDE 4.4 and into the new plasma-netbook interface.

I can see the interface there, but there are no plasmoids available. Anyway, that's the fun of keeping track of trunk smile

There are, just press these "tabs" or make a search. But the plasmoids' names are shortened somehow and you can see only the ... middle of their names tongue

Re: Daily KDE4 Subversion Packages

Hey guys,

sorry for being away for about a week but I had to send my laptop to hp for repair.
So now I have it back and I can get back to work again.

What do you think about splitting kdelibs? There are splitted PKGBUILD already but in extra, kdelibs isn't splitted so I wourld go for letting it be one packages.

Greetingis

Stephan

@markc: How about mpkg? Did you work on it? I haven't installed it yet as I wanted to wait until you made the biggest changes.

Re: Daily KDE4 Subversion Packages

@last of wolves I was just wondering because you had mentioned you were going to try to make a repository.
I think since you guys are expert in maintaining latest svn/git packages, it would be great for people having ATI graphic cards if there was a repo which refreshed ati radeon git packages nightly.
Thanks
