eth0 and eth1 keep switching

I have a HP Compaq nc6220. I have a wifi and a lan network card. Each assigned as eth0 or eth1 but upon every boot up they keep switching interfaces! Why is that so?

Re: eth0 and eth1 keep switching

That was an awkward solution, IMHO. Why not simply load the modules in order in rc.conf (as per the wiki article referenced above) and then use /etc/iftab? Try man iftab, it is very straightforward.

Re: eth0 and eth1 keep switching

Thanks. I used the creating /etc/udev/rules.d/10-network.rules solution. I prefer that so I can set my interface to lan0 and wlan0.
