I just installed alsa , and when there is no sound playing i get a noise trough my speakers, sounds like my coimpueter has a pulse lol

i had my pc pluged in to a killawatt like device to measure power usage, if i plug my pc straight in to the wall the sound is gone :S?

Is your sound settings ok ? Can you check it with alsamixer, e.g. ?

The power meter or the speakers or the cables aren't properly shielded. My bet is on the meter.
If you wish to use the power meter, move the speakers and all cables as far away from the meter as possible and move the power meter as far away from your computer as you can. My own preference would be to not use the meter. Or I'd learn to dance to the beat.
