I have a problem with my USB stick. When I the first time turn on computer and connect USB stick, it spend about 5 seconds to mount it. But after some time while I am working and want to connect USB stick then it spend too long - about 2 minutes - to mount it.
can you help me to solve this problem?
I use 64bit arch, tried kernel 2.6.29., 2.6.30 - still the same problem

What's the exact command you try to mount it? Is it a simple usb storage ? Does it have any special udev rules ? Does it work under other distribution or livecd ?

I use automount via HAL, no special rules, in other distros and windows too it works fine

IMHO the problem is there......
... in effect if it works fine with an "original" kernel ....

IMHO the problem is there......... in effect if it works fine with an "original" kernel ....
that's an "original" kernel, I tried 2.6.29, 2.6.2.30
