If I start up the urxvt in deamon mode and then open a few urxvt clients... when I close one of the client windows all of the rest of the client windows close as well and the daemon is stopped... is this intended behavior? If it is indeed by design it imho makes the feature rather useless. I would like to be able to run urxvt in deamon mode and be able to open up a number of clients all the while being able to close the clients individually while leaving the daemon running in the background. Is this possible?
Thanks in advance
EDIT: hmm if I launch it using the urxvtcd script hosted in the AUR everything seems to work as I was looking for... sorry for the premature post.

I know that you found a solution, but I'm curious anyway. I run urxvtd on two separate machines and have never seen the behavior that you have. How were you starting it?

I was starting the daemon by running urxvtd... and the clients by running urxvtc
Is this not the correct method?

Yes that is right. I've never had that behaviour either.
Strange...

hmm, I start it with 'urxvtd -q -f -o', read the man page... this binds it to the x server and backgrounds it.
