Kernel change posit

Suppose one decides to change the config file Kernel-2.6.10-3 by one entry changing an entry from, ... ...is not set... to =m, establishing the entry as a module.

Now perform ... pacman -Af kernel26-2.6.10-3.pkg.tar.gz...

Follow that with /sbin/lilo -v......

This should enter the new config in the existing Kernel and the module can be entered in fstab.

Is this a viable procedure or is it forbidden?

Prediction...This year will be a very odd year!

Re: Kernel change posit

Message from Mr Green; As far as I am aware you have to recompile kernel even for small changes ....

someone may say different

you can use your config (set for cramfs) for rebuilding kernel just make a copy to your kernel26 in abs

I assume you are tlaking about the recent update of 2.6.10-3 ....

Might be an idea to suggest that cramfs is set in stock kernel

Never know when it will come in handy
