My first archlinux wallpaper [svg]

vMmQ3cQ
svg, png, blogpost

It is based on the same punk tux which I use as my user picture here in the forums.
Made 100% with Inkscape (except for the arch logo/text which I obviously did not make) big_smile

What do you think about this?

Hello really nice work.
I have 2 question to you wink
1.How you add tux to your image in inkscape?
2.How do you export this image to png?

1.How you add tux to your image in inkscape?

Originally I had found a Debian Wallpaper on Deviant Art I think which contained a somewhat similar tux (if only I could find it now :-\ )
I've started to use it as my avatar in forums and as I didn't know the license and couldn't find the original wallpaper, I decided to re-draw my already with gimp modified and downscaled version with inkscape like this:

1. Make two layers

2. Copy the bitmap graphic in the lower layer

3. Draw similar lines and curves with the Bezier-Curve tool on the upper layer
vMmZsOA

4. Fill the shapes with colors or gradients
inkscape_fill_colors.png

5. To adjust the shapes, use the edit nodes tool
inkscape_edit_nodes.png

Later I changed the design even further, giving the punk tux that dotted hair for example. It does not look much similar to the original one by now (which I don't have anymore).

2.How do you export this image to png?

In Inkscape, File/Export Bitmap or hit Shift+Ctrl+E.
