Every time when I make yaourt -Syu yaourt downloads packages, but only those smaller than ~0,5 MB. If the package is bigger it downloads it but then yaourt stops, and all I can do is ctrl+c and run yaourt -Syu once again. I don't have to say that this is pretty irritating cause I can't make a full system upgrade. I hope that someone has a solution for this.

Does 'pacman -Syu' do the same?

Nope. The problem ocures only when using yaourt.

Using the pacman command is your solution.

actually, fixing the issue would be his solution, using pacman is just a work around..
tecnically not the same.
hmm, remove yaourt. backup its config file, and rebuild it...see if that fixes it.

eldragon, you're correct.
I was being too short (and cryptic) in my answer. I was trying to say that for as vital a function as a system upgrade, I would use pacman not yaourt. But I didn't offer a proper solution to the malfunctioning yaourt program.

Actually, the problem seems to be in pacman -Syu also. Sometimes after update of some bigger package it moves on to downloading another package, but it's still very rare.

Could it be a problem with the mirror site you've chosen?
Have you checked your mirrorlist and compared it to the mirrorcheck site recently?
Edit: Darn url won't be typed correctly with the fingers I'm using.
