Hi,
I just did a pacman -Syu
Pacman found a new version of itself and asked to be upgraded. I said OK, there seemed to be no errors but after this pacman had gone!
So.. what can I do? How can I reinstall pacman.. without pacman?

ok, I untarred the pacman package to root. Now it's working again!! Thanks, saved me from deleting arch (arch has broken on some other systems after upgrade as well recently). See if I make it trough pacman -Syu now ![]()

you should run pacman -S pacman to make sure it's installed correctly.

Yes I ran pacman -S pacman, but somehow (without any error notfications) pacman was removed but not installed again.

You should have booted an arch live, mounted your arch partition in /mnt and run the command "pacman -r /mnt -S pacman"
"I'm Winston Wolfe. I solve problems."

BTW: made it fine through pacman -Syu (hadn't upgraded since a year), I really like the new LXDE desktop and new xorg
Thanks
