Installation via PXE and grub

Hello,
I want to install Arch on a pc on which the CD drive died, and am trying to do so by following this guide:
http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ins … _(via_PXE)

But, my bios cannot boot from PXE. I have read that grub (which I have already installed) can do PXE booting, but am unable to find enough resource online, and the grub manual mentions it once or twice but isn't very helpful. Can anyone help me?

Re: Installation via PXE and grub

IIRC grub requires a recompile to have PXE booting enabled.

If you have a floppy disc handy of even a USB flash drive you can try either etherboot or gPXE grab them from here where you can generate the type of file for your destination device (eg. usb flash drive or floppy disk) - http://rom-o-matic.net/

Re: Installation via PXE and grub

Thanks, but I can't boot from usb, I just threw away my last floppies 2 months ago, and I have no way to recompile grub, so I guess I'll just buy a new CD drive hmm .
