Which was ...?
You do realize providing vague information will make it difficult for this thread to help someone else, right?

Re: skype won"t work?

sorry....
i had bin32-skype-pulse 0.1-1 installed, and when i built skype after installing it it would shutdown immediately.
after removal skype works well.
except one little kink,
when i video chat, i can see and hear the other person, but they cannot see nor hear me.
any solutions?

Re: skype won"t work?

ok so  i've been continually trying to get skype to work....

it will not record my voice when i call echo123 which leads me to believe that my microphone is not being detected.
when i try to select the microphone from the skype menu i get these options (none of which work)

HDA Intel, STAC92xx Analog (hw:0,0)
HDA Intel, STAC92xx Analog 4.0 surround (surround40:CARD=Intel, DEV=0)
HDA Intel, STAC92xx Analog 5.1 surround (surround51:CARD=Intel, DEV=0)
HDA Intel, STAC92xx Analog 7.1 surround (surround71:CARD=Intel, DEV=0)
HDA Intel, STAC92xx Analog  Front (front:CARD=Intel, DEV=0)
Default Device

and so i tried to run something to see if alsa was detecting the microphone.... idk if it was the right thing to run
when i run:
cat /proc/asound/cards
i get:
0 [Intel          ]: HDA-Intel - HDA Intel
HDA Intel at 0xda500000 irq 31
(and that's it!)

this microphone is built into my laptop if that means anything...
