I can't mount any cd/dvd, usb flash drive after e2fsprogs update. Here is what I get after inserting 8GB flash with ntfs and 512MB fat32 flash...
It shows up in nautilus as a device but i can't mount it at all, no errors are shown...

Do you get any errors if you try to mount manually on the command line? Are you mounting your NTFS drive with ntfs-3g? From your dmesg log I also see that the NTFS drive seems to have some errors, does it work fine in any other system?

I can't mount it, it doesn't recognize filesystem on either ntfs nor fat32 flash, cant even mount cd/dvd's
ls /proc/fs
ext4 jbd2 nfsd
How can this be, is this a kernel bug or... I've made my custom kernel almost two weeks ago and I can't be sure 100% but I'm almost certain that I've inserted flash/dvd's after that and didn't have these kind of problems...

I've just formated with gparted flash with ext4 and when I try mount -t ext4 /dev/sdb /data/flash it gives:
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sdb,
missing codepage or helper program, or other error
In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try
dmesg | tail or so
and in dmesg
[ 2009.367085] EXT4-fs (sdb): VFS: Can't find ext4 filesystem
dunno why, anyone have an idea?

It looks like a kernel bug, and it's still present in 2.6.31 kernel, I will wait untill 2.6.31.1 is out (right now its git10 should be released shortly)...
I just can't belive that I haven't inserted any dvd's nor flash drives for 12 days, so by mistake I thought it's a e2fsprogs fault...

Ok, it's not kernel either, I've upgraded gnome to 2.28 and now it reports "Can not mount LABEL, Not authorized"

Ok, problem was with polkit, I'm not using gdm, solved it now...

Can you post how exactly you solved it? I have the same problem and i don't use gnome, so it can't be that.
EDIT: nvm i'm an idiot. I was starting openbox with "exec openbox-session" instead of "exec ck-launch-session openbox-session" in my .xinitrc

I've edited /etc/pam.d/login and added ck-launch-session before gnome-session...

Thanks, i just noticed it as you posted ![]()

You're not an idiot man
, how could we know that, i'm testing xorg 7.5rc and I needed to boot to console, not through gdm so my problems started then - not when e2fsprogs updated...
