Trying to get printing from my Epson 2200. CUPS downloaded a driver but it does not work. I know the usb connection and printer work as they print correctly under Ubunutu 9.04. Unfortunately, I can't find a suitable driver anywhere on the net.
This is a showstopper for me. I don't have the cash to buy a new printer. Hope someone has an idea about this othewise it's back to Ubuntu.

make sure your group is added to the cups.conf file and that you belong in that group before adding your printer. Here is the link that should help you out http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=35567. My HP printer didn't work until i dd this and then added the printer afterwards. Hope it helps!

If your printer is an epson stylus photo 2200 then install gutenprint, restart cups and add your printer using the correct driver.
For reference have look here:
http://openprinting.org/show_printer.cg … Photo_2200
If this is not your printer just click printers on the left side and search for your printer then you'll get the driver package you need to run your printer.
